How to Survive? Facials

I am sure many of you know the struggle of surviving facials, especially if it is your first time. No facial is pleasant, unless it only includes massages and facial masks. However, if you go for a deep cleansing, you might find yourself mentally preparing for the appointment. Even if you are turning to an expert to give you the treatment, even they cannot prevent tears coming down your face. I should know as I am speaking from experience.
Three years ago I was a girl who wore heavy foundation only on special occasions. My daily makeup consisted of putting small amounts of hydrating foundation, a coat of mascara, a bit of blusher and a lipstick. Right until my hormones started raging and all of my seemingly invisible black heads turned into big red problems. You can imagine what it was like going from almost-no-makeup to coats-of-heavy-foundation. As it was a hormonal problem I had no choice but to seek help. That is how I started having 2-hours-long facials every 2 weeks. I have had the most incredible woman giving me the treatments and she practically saved my skin. Even though I visited the specialist I went through hell and back every time I went to the salon. Tears were streaming down my face and the pain was almost unbearable. This is why I always point out how important it is to check up on the person who is supposed to handle your skin. Once your skin is ruined with a badly performed facial, it is hard to repair the damage.
If you visit the salon for the first time there are a few steps you can take to make sure your facial does not take a wrong turn. Before entering the hell named "Removing Black Heads", make sure your face is completely clean. They should exfoliate your skin, but make sure nothing hurts you. If they use peelings with large particles they can overdo it and remove too much of the outer layer of skin. After exfoliation your skin is ready for steaming. Make sure your skin is steaming for at least 10 minutes, anything under that is not enough for your pores to open completely. Well steamed face means that black heads will come out easily, and that means less pain for you. When they put cream on your face do not forget to ask for the one with pure hydration, you do not want to smother your freshly clean skin with unnecessary oils.
